Kommentar på PISA 2026

De senaste Pisa-resultaten har publicerats, och ännu en gång brottas forskare och beslutsfattare med frågan om vad som egentligen hänt med den svenska skolan – och vad som bör göras åt saken. Bilden som framträder är oroande: svenska 15-åringars prestationer i läsförståelse och matematik fortsätter att sjunka. Resultaten ligger nu nära genomsnittet för OECD-länderna inom läsning, matematik och naturvetenskap, och tillhör de svagaste Sverige någonsin noterat i Pisa-undersökningen. Denna nedgång är dock inget isolerat svenskt fenomen. Även inom OECD som helhet har resultaten i läsning och matematik sjunkit markant och befinner sig nu på historiskt låga nivåer. Det innebär inte att Sverige kan frånsäga sig ansvar, men det tyder på att en del av förklaringen sannolikt ligger i faktorer som påverkar barns och ungdomars lärande på bred front, i flera länder samtidigt.
